Carole Write joined the board in September 2017. As the former director of United Way of Eastern Utah, she brings to the board a wealth of knowledge on how to run a non-profit and hold successful fundraising events.
The angel tree program at UWEU showed her first hand what a struggle it is for single parents to provide for their children as well as maintain daily needs. After working with Michelle to plan a couple of events she truly knew this was something that she felt strongly about and Michelle’s
compassion was contagious. Although currently retired Carole remembers full well the struggles parents face raising their families. Even though she wasn't a single parent she and her husband raised four children. Her work at UWEU gives her a great experience find resources, services, and donations.
None of our board members are paid for their service to Village of Life. They serve on the board because they believe in making a difference in the lives of others. In fact, Village of Life currently does not have any employees. Everything we do is done by volunteers. At some point we expect that to change as we grow and start serving more clients but for now we have chosen a volunteer model to help ensure that our donations are used to help the families we serve.
